Chapter Two: Becoming a Persuasive Writer

The basic communication model has four elements:
  1. sender
  2. message
  3. channel
  4. receiver

There are many factors involved in preparing a persuasive message:

  • Audience analysis
  • Source credibility
  • Appeal to self-interest
  • Clarity of message
  • Timing and context use of symbols and slogans
  • Semantics
  • Suggestions for action
